The Lambeth Conference of Anglican bishops and primates in 1998 will long be remembered for the rancour and heated disagreement in the debating hall on the place of homosexual Christians in the life of the Church. However, the working party established as a result of it produced a sensitive and insightful report in which they made, amongst other things, two important discoveries. The first, that meeting face-to-face and re-discovering what it was to listen respectfully to their differences was much better than theoretical debate and attempts to 'win the argument'. The second was that they could not come to a common mind on what to recommend as a way of holy living for gay and lesbian couples. Given their commitment at the conference to listen to the experience of gay and lesbian lives, this book meets some of those couples face to face as they reflect on their experiences as couples, committed to life long ministry in the Church and on what it is like to live a life of holiness with a partner of the same sex.
